When I book a theory test do I have to take it in my home town or city?

Book Theory Test Today explains why you’re mistaken to think that you have to take a DVSA theory test in your home town or city.

The answer is no. When you’re ready to book a theory test online, you don’t have to take it in your home town or city. You can take the test anywhere in Britain, you’re not restricted to your immediate location.

Obviously, taking it in your home town/city is far more convenient, however, there are many learner drivers who opt to sit their DVSA theory test elsewhere.

Why book a theory test and not take it in my home town or city?

There are various reasons why some learners decide that it would be better to book a theory test online and sit the exam in a different part of the country. For some, the waiting time to take a theory test at their local test centre is long. Therefore, they are willing to travel in order to sit the exam much quicker and be able to book a DVSA practical test.

Other learners may have taken a theory test at their local test centre several times, without success, so they’re reluctant to book a theory test at the same centre and instead try somewhere new in the hope that they can achieve a pass mark.

For some, superstition plays a part in their decisions to book a theory test outside of their local area. Some towns and cities in Britain have a low theory test pass rate and rather than add to the poor pass rate percentage, learners look elsewhere to sit their theory exam.

No guarantees you will pass

However, whatever the reason may be that an individual decides to book a theory test at a centre outside of their immediate location, there’s no guarantee that sitting it elsewhere will result in a pass.

Too many learner drivers about to book a theory test online are caught up in the idea that there’s a conspiracy to fail some candidates in order to meet quotas. However, passing a theory test comes down to your knowledge, plain and simple.

After all, the entire theory test is computerised and your score is recorded and you’re presented with the results almost immediately.

For those who have taken a theory test multiple times, without success, yes it is frustrating and it’s not uncommon to try and find fault with the system as an excuse.

It’s more likely that you were out late the night before the test, or you’ve done one hour of revision and expected to pass. Be honest, the book theory test today blogger is speaking from experience.

Coming back to the question, you can book a theory test at any test centre in the country, but don’t do it because you think it will increase your chances of passing.
