Taking a test

The theory test in Ireland is computerised and you have a choice in the way in which you can take the exam. You can select to use a touch screen or stick with a standard mouse and keyboard. For each theory test in each category, the first part features a short tutorial, including instructions on how to navigate your way through the exam.

You will also be presented with two practice questions to answer before your test begins proper. If you’re not computer savvy, don’t worry, you don’t need to be computer literate to get through the theory test.

That concludes part two of this series of what to expect when booking a theory test in Ireland. Look out for part three, coming soon, where we will reveal more information on taking a theory test in Ireland.
