Cheaper driving theory test booking a long-time coming
Plans to reduce the cost of a driving theory test booking were announced midway through last year [2014] by former Transport Minister, Stephen Hammond. In October 2014, the first stage of cutting the cost of a driving theory test booking took place, with the fee dropping by £6 from £31 to £25.
According to government officials, slashing the cost of booking a driving theory test will save Britain’s learner motorists approximately £100 million over the next nine years. Aside from reducing the fee for a car or motorbike theory test booking, fee reductions will also be applied to bus, taxi and HGV theory tests.
