When’s The Best Time To Take The Theory Test?

time-theory-testThe Book Theory Test Today blogger examines when the best time to take a theory test is…

Many theory test candidates have a theory that the theory test can be taken at certain times, on certain days, in order to improve their chances of passing. However, the Book Theory Test Today blogger reveals that these theories are just myths.

Here’s just a few of the theories that Book Theory Test Today have heard over the years:

#1 – You’re more likely to pass your test on a Friday afternoon.

The Book Theory Test Today blogger says: “This is of course a total myth. Many theory test candidates are led to believe that theory test invigilators are in a better mood on a Friday afternoon as they prepare for the weekend.

There are two factors that affect this theory unfortunately. Firstly, most theory test centres are open on a Saturday so the idea of them being in a better mood is unfounded. Secondly, theory test invigilators have absolutely no bearing on the theory test result because it’s all computerised.”

#2 – You don’t need to prepare to pass your theory test.

A small minority of theory test candidates feel that they can pass the theory test without any revision whatsoever. However, be warned there will always be questions that catch you out on the theory test if you go in unprepared. Constantly testing yourself up until the day of your theory test is a sure fire way to avoid disappointment. It’s always better to be prepared rather than guessing answers and hoping for the best.

#3 – Monday morning is the worst time to take the theory test.

Similar to the ‘Friday’ theory a proportion of theory test candidates are sold the idea that the outcome of the theory test is based on the mood of the theory test invigilator. There’s an assumption that Monday morning is not the best time to take a theory test, but there’s no statistical evidence to suggest that taking a theory test on a Monday has any bearing on the test outcome.

Is there a best time to take the theory test?

Yes…The best time is when you’re ready and every theory test candidate feels confident at different stages. Some candidates will simply study the Highway Code and take a theory test before they have even got behind the wheel of a car.

Others will wait until they have racked up a good number of hours practical driving before taking the theory test. The truth is there is no formula for passing the theory test other than study and taking the exam when you feel fully prepared.

Any notion that the theory test needs to be taken on a certain day, or certain time, are absurd. Book Theory Test Today recommends that you book your theory test when you feel ready. Dismiss any theories that you see on the internet or you hear from your friends and family. Only you know when you are ready!
