Book Theory Test Today 2019: What’s New?
Book Theory Test Today continues to offer an all-in-one, online service where you can book driving theory tests and practical exams and access study resources. However, some of our study resources will be updated to reflect changes to the driving theory test made by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) as part of their 2019 strategic plan.
The DVSA’s 2019 theory test plans include the further development, trialling and analysing of visual media clips used as part of the exam. The DVSA sees media clips as a potential alternative to better test a learner’s ability to use their driving knowledge in context.
Meanwhile, the DVSA is expected to continually upgrade the theory test throughout 2019, so stay tuned to the Book Theory Test Today blog for updates on new developments.
Book Theory Test Today 2019: Driving Test Centres
Throughout 2018, a number of driving theory test and practical centres were closed, relocated or pending relocation. Since the start of 2019, Book Theory Test Today has heard that Huddersfield Driving Test Centre is likely to be relocated after its current premises, Waverley House in Edgerton, was put up for sale.
It’s expected that practical driving tests in Huddersfield will now be held at Abacus House in Bradley, after the DVSA secured planning permission to use the facility. However, this isn’t guaranteed. It’s possible that Huddersfield could be left without a test centre, leaving candidates to have to travel to Halifax or Heckmondwike to take a driving test.
As the DVSA seeks to cut its operating costs, it’s likely that more theory test centres and practical exam facilities will be closed, most likely in locations where there is very little demand.
