The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has confirmed the closure of Worthing Driving Test Centre. What now for Worthing’s learner drivers looking to book a practical driving test?
As expected, the DVSA has confirmed the closure of Worthing Driving Test Centre and announced that it will not reopen. Worthing’s learner drivers are being directed to the recently opened, Lancing Driving Test Centre – better known as the Lancing LGV Driving Test Centre. The Lancing facility will now cater for car driving tests.
The Lancing Driving Test Centre is located on Lancing Business Park on Chartwell Road. The facility is approximately a 10-minute walk away from Lancing train station, following these directions:
· From the train station, head west
· After 164 feet, turn right towards Elm Grove
· After 0.1 mile, turn left towards Elm Grove
· After 56 feet, turn right on Elm Grove
· After 0.2 miles, turn right towards Chartwell Road
· After 161 feet, take a sharp left onto Chartwell Road
· After 0.1 mile, Lancing Driving Test Centre will be on your right
Facilities at Lancing Driving Test Centre
The Lancing Driving Test Centre provides access for those with mobility issues and has disabled toilets on site. The test centre facility also has plenty of parking available.
The Lancing Driving Test Centre is already fully operational and has been taking test bookings since 7 November. A spokesperson for the DVSA said: “The DVSA is committed to helping you through a lifetime of safe driving.”
Lancing Driving Test Centre has replaced Worthing Driving Test Centre – previously located at Westmorland House on the Strand Parade.
What about Worthing Theory Test Centre? Driving theory tests in Worthing will still be conducted at Chatsworth House on Chatsworth Road. Theory tests take place on the first floor of the building and there are no immediate plans to change the location of theory tests in Worthing.
