What’s the Latest on Lessons and Driving Tests in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Regions?
The answer is… we don’t know! The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has given no indication as to whether lessons and driving tests in Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions will be officially allowed to resume.
With 99 percent of Britain in Tier 2 and Tier 3 of the COVID-19 restriction system, it means tough measures in socialising and restrictions on pubs and restaurants.
While the government has outlined rules for most activities, such as going to the cinema or attending sports events, there has been no mention of driving tests or lessons in any official releases.
Driving Schools Taking Bookings
Despite the lack of information, driving schools are taking lesson bookings ahead of the month-long restrictions being lifted.
A statement issued by one of the UK’s biggest driving schools, RED, said: “We will be resuming all driving lessons and in-vehicle training throughout the whole of England from Wednesday 2 December.
A spokesperson for the DVSA said: “Discussions are continuing around what the new tier system means for testing and training and DVSA will issue more information when it’s available.”
