From Cambridge railway station, it takes about 19 minutes to walk to the test centre. Then again, if we don't want to spend time on our feet, we don't have to! There is a bus stop right next door to the test centre entrance.

You can also ask your driver if he knows how to get there.

Keep in mind that if your appointment falls during rush hour the roads around here are most likely to be very busy. Leave yourself plenty time to get there. Parking If the car that you're driving needs to be parked up, we're afraid the testing centre doesn't provide any parking. Fortunately, though, the city has lots of parking options.

You should go to the Grand Arcade carpark because it's close to the test centre and there are lots of spaces available. You could also try the Queen Anne Terrence carpark as it's closer than the Grand Arcade car park.

Opening temporary larger theory test centres in England

We opened 10 new temporary centres on Monday 12 April. These 10 new centres will create a minimum 120,000 more appointments per month than before. The new centres are in: Cambridge. Huddersfield. Leeds (2 temporary centres). London (docks).

London (Holborn), Manchester (Salford), Wolverhampton.

Taking a test at one of these temporary centres

These temporary larger theory test centres work slightly differently to normal test centres. Some sites have up-to 25 people testing at any one time, and robust covid-secure measures are in place to ensure the safe of candidates and staff.

Hand sanitiser should be available at the reception desk, as well as cleaning supplies. Staff should wear masks and gloves while working. Candidates should also wear masks and gloves if they're unable to cover their faces.

Candidates must come into the testing centre alone to help with the social distancing. Pupils will see that mobile phones must be turned OFF before entering the test centre, and there are other safety measures in place at every test centre.

There are no lockers for students' personal belongings. Students will get a plastic box to put their things in and must keep it under their desks during the exam. Invigilators will monitor the students taking the test, observe social distancing guidelines at every moment, and clean up any messes made by students.

These details will also be included as part of your booking confirmation email.

More theory test centres in the UK

Currently there are 180 theory test centers in the UK, from 6th September this will rise to 202 centers. This should help learners pass their theory tests faster - because there will be more testing centers to book from. A lot of test centers are moving locations so some learners might face longer travel times to reach their nearest test center.

There will be 22 new locations added to the game, and around 96 locations will be closed down. Once a list has been confirmed by the DVLA we will update this article with the changes.
