Belfast Car Driving THEORY TEST CENTRE
You'll be put in a queue if you want to book a driving test. Once you've booked, you'll get an email telling you how long you'll need to wait before taking the test. Booking by phone is much slower than booking online. You can book a driving test up to 24 weeks ahead. There is no waiting lists or cancellations.
Before you start
You need your: UK driving license number. credit or debit account number. driving instructor’ s personal reference number if you're going to check they're available. You can check how much your driving test costs before you start. You need to have lived in England, Scotland or Wales for at least 185 days over the past year before the day you take the test.
There's a different service to book driving tests in Northern Ireland. You should be able to cancel an appointment before booking if you want to do that.
Book a test to upgrade your licence
You should contact the DVSA if you want to take your driving test in a different vehicle than what you currently drive. Call them on 0300 200 1122 Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm.
When you do not need a theory test
A theory test is required to book a tractor, but not to book a tractor test. To book a motorcycle test, you need a theory test. To book a lorry or trailer test, you need a lorry or trailer licence. To book a bus or trailer test, you've got a bus or trailer licence.
A medium lorry licence is better than a minibus licence.

The DVSA are responsible for all theory tests throughout the UK. Bookings are made over the phone or online. You'll need your provisional driving licence at hand. Pearson Professional conducts the theory tests. Email contacts can be found within the bookings section.
ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED YOUR TEST
When your theory test has been bookmarked, you'll receive an email from the DVSAs detailing the date, time, and reference number of your theory test in Belfast. Although it's not necessary to bring this information with you to your theory test, we recommend printing the email and bringing it along to your test if any issues arise.
ATTENDING YOUR THEORY TEST
You should leave the hotel by turning left onto Great Victoria Street. The theory test centre will be on the right-hand side of the building. You'll need to arrive early if you want to take the test. Don't forget to bring your provisional licence.
How To Get To Belfast Theory Test Centre
There are three types of transport available to get to your test. These include: Car, Bus and Train. To get to your appointment, you should walk to the town centre. From there, you should go to Lower Baxter Street. If you're near The Apex, you'll be close.
There are many car parks around Belfast. You can also go to Chichester Street or any other waiting point.
A great place to travel by train is the Great Victoria Street Station. You can get there easily by walking from the station. Bring your provisional licence with you when you go to take your theory test. Otherwise, you won't be allowed to sit for your theory test.

To book your theory test you should go to the DVSA's website and book your theory test there. You can also call the DVSA's booking phone number if you wish to do this. There are other nearby theory test centres too.
The pass rate is 51.3% nationally, it is very important that you prepare for the theory test to give you a better chance of passing.
