When you do not need a theory test

You must pass a theory test before booking a driving test to upgrade your license. Your automatic vehicle license must be upgraded to a manual vehicle license. From A1 (small motorcycles) to A2 (medium motorcycles), if you've held your license for two years or more. From C1 (medium vehicles), to C (large vehicles).

A minibus must tow a trailer. You don't need a license to drive a bus.

Arriving at Bristol Theory Test Centre

You can use public transport before you take your driving lessons.

You should go to Bristol Temple Meads Station. This is the easiest option as it is close to the test centre. You can also choose to go to Lawrence Hill Station if you prefer to take a longer walk.

Bus stops are the easiest way to get around Bristol. Take the bus to the test centre. Let a friend or relative drive you there. Tell them the postcode is BS1-6EZ. Use a sat nav to help you out.

Bristol is a busy city. Heavy traffic can be an issue during rush hour. If your test appointment happens to fall during this period, be sure to leave enough time to get there. Parking The test centre doesn't offer on site parking for visitors. If you're planning on leaving your vehicle while you take the test, you'll need to look elsewhere for a space. The nearest option is Bristol First car park (6BQ), but it's only a 4 minute walk away from the test centre and costs a reasonable £ for two hours of parking.

There are about 100 spaces available at this car park. You should be able to find a space here if you try hard enough.

The pass mark for the car test is 86% and you need to get at least 43 correct answers to pass the multiple choice section. To pass the hazard perception test, you must score 44 out of 75.

CANCELLING AND RESCHEDULING THE THEORY TEST
