At the grand age of 77, Kathleen Mitchell has finally passed her driving<\/b> theory test <\/strong>and practical exam and now says she can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t wait to get behind the wheel of her husband Tony\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s three-litre Jaguar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs Mitchell said: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I managed to book my theory test online <\/strong>and pass that. I think the theory test<\/strong> was the easy part. I was nervous about learning to drive at my age, but was motivated by Tony\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s condition and that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s what got me through it all.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n

Having passed, Mrs Mitchell is now really excited about getting behind the wheel of her husband\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s car, a monstrous three-litre Jag.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on the car, Kathleen said: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a wonderful machine and I think I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll look right at home driving it. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve always loved nice cars, but getting to drive a car like this for myself is a real treat. I reckon I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll turn a few heads, although my husband will be keeping an eye on my speed because he won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want me to scratch it.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She added: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s easy to get carried away in a car like that because there\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s so much power under the bonnet. I just can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t wait to get out and burn some rubber on the open road.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n

Kathleen, who boasts six grandchildren, took her theory test <\/strong>and practical exam in her home town of Brierley, South Yorkshire.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was quite nervous at the end, but when the examiner said I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d passed I was so relieved and really excited about my new freedom.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking about her husband Tony, Kathleen said: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Tony can still drive but I decided to take the theory test <\/strong>and practical exam so I could take over if he gets tired or doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t feel up to it.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Mitchell is said to be ecstatic about his wife\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s accomplishments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kathleen said: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153He is so proud of me and all the children and grandchildren have been calling me up saying well done. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a wonderful feeling. I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t wait to get out on the road.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n
