Drivers caught exceeding the speed limit by 10 mph come under band A, while motorists in the B band are those caught clocking 11-21 mph over the speed limit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Band C is reserved for drivers caught committing more severe speeding offences, namely those exceeding a speed limit by 21 mph or more. Fines for each band include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Band A &#8211; 25\u00e2\u20ac\u201c75% of weekly wage where offender exceeds limit by 1-10 mph<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Band B \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 75-125% of weekly wage where offender exceeds limit by 11-21 mph<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Band C \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 125-175% of weekly wage where offender exceeds limit by 21 mph or more<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">However, the consequences of exceeding UK speed limits doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t end there. If caught, you run the risk of being banned for up to 56 days (if you commit a Band C offence) or getting slapped with six points on your licence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Can the new UK speeding fines be avoided?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Yes. First time offenders can escape increased fines, provided that they are willing to complete a speed awareness course. However, repeat offenders can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t expect the same sort of leniency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Initial fines could be changed at the discretion of UK courts depending on the conditions of the case.
